About

Epic Sandbox is a directory of beaches and the places to stay near them, built on the idea that the same six things should be recorded about every one of them.

Sand type, water entry, swimmability, surf, snorkelling, crowd level. Every beach page leads with those, in the same order, so two beaches on opposite sides of the world can be compared without reading two thousand words about either. Underneath them sit the things that decide a morning: where you actually park, which access is worth using, what the facilities really are.

Most travel writing about beaches is adjectives. This is an attempt at the opposite — a set of readings you can filter, sort and disagree with. Lily Mae writes the verdicts on top, kept visually separate so you can ignore them and still have the data.

What we are still building

This is an early version and it is easier to say what is missing than what is here. Coverage is thin — a handful of beaches, and the stays are not published yet. Photography is not in place. Several destinations exist as a page and nothing beneath it.

What is solid is the method: how this workssets out where the data comes from, what we will not claim without a source, and how the affiliate links are handled.
