Privacy

A working draft describing what the site currently does. It needs review against the jurisdictions Epic Sandbox operates in before launch — it is not a substitute for a policy someone qualified has checked.

Epic Sandbox is a static site. There are no accounts, no logins and nothing to sign up for, so there is very little about you for us to hold.

What we collect

Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type into. The site has no forms, no comments and no registration. If you email us, we have your email and whatever you chose to put in it, and we keep it only as long as it takes to deal with.

Analytics and hosting

Our host records standard server logs, which include IP addresses, in the ordinary course of serving pages. Any analytics we run is measured in aggregate — which pages get read, roughly where readers are — and is not used to build a profile of an individual.

Affiliate links

Some links to stays are affiliate links. Following one takes you to the booking partner's own site, where their privacy policy applies, not ours. They will typically set a cookie so a booking can be attributed back to us. We see whether a booking happened; we do not see who you are or what you booked beyond that.

Maps

Beach maps are rendered by us from OpenStreetMap data and served from this site, so viewing one does not call out to a third-party tile provider. Following an "open on OpenStreetMap" link does take you to their site, under their terms.
